Today we’re going to learn the names of colours in Hindi! We’ll then see some examples of these words in sentences, applying what we learnt in Lesson #44: Adjectives. The word for colour in Hindi is रंग rang. So are you ready to learn some colour names?

All the colours that end with ा aa are inflecting adjectives. This means they must agree with the noun they describe, this is exactly as we learnt in Lesson #44. Ready to see some examples?

यह कलम लाल है yeh kalam laal hai - This pen is red. 

ये कुत्ते काले हैं ye kutte kaale hain - These dogs are black. 

किताब हरी है kitaab haree hai  - The book is green. 

यह पलंग नीला है yeh palang neelaa hai - This bed is blue. 

Try and think of your own sentences describing the colours of the things around you. Remember to inflect the adjectives!
