नमस्ते namaste and welcome to Learning Hindi! We are a completely free website teaching the beautiful language of Hindi in a fun, easy and casual way. We pride ourselves on being friendly, informal and welcoming to everyone. You can find all our lessons in the left hand side menu!
The site began in June 2010 not as an educational site but as a diary through my Hindi learning adventure. This soon changed as we started to get more of a following and the site quickly took on an educational approach. Seven years and over ten million pageviews later we’re stronger than ever! We have over 130 and counting lessons from complete beginners to an intermediate level.

The site is run by just one person, just me! My name is George. I’m currently doing a PhD in Mathematics. After that I plan to become a teacher. Here’s what I look like…
You may notice that I am not Indian nor of Indian descent and you’re right. I am not a native Hindi speaker! I am only a learner of Hindi. I have been studying the language for many years but there are many things I don’t know which I happily admit to. If you ever spot a mistake then please let me know!
The site is completely free for everyone. But of course, as with anything in life, there are costs (domain names, email hosting, site developing etc). The site is very kindly supported by donations from our readers.
