Project ideas

Posted on 0000-00-00

I'm just aggregating these here so I can easily reference them from anywhere

(Also I'm not protective of my ideas, if anything seems interesting, go for it.)

Games

  • An RPG where you ahve to script your combat behavior; no direct control.
  • "Port" the HeartQuest books to Twine or RenPy games.
  • A turn-based strategy game except it's a restaurant sim, not fighting stuff.
  • A horror game with procedural generation; new mystery each time? If you die you won't find out the mystery and be left wondering...
  • Text adventure with basic "graphical" map image, inspired by old MUDs
  • Being a child and exploring a new operating system, customizing the appearance and things
  • You're just a little guy in the internet tubes delivering emails.
  • Protecting little dudes from the rain (IDK chipmunks and stuff? With an umbrella?)
  • A visual novel dating sim except you're a stray dog looking for a forever home and interact with various people/families to get to know them
  • You're an ACE PILOT - you're really good at fighting off alien invaders and you're very popular, but also asexual and want all your fangirls/boys/thems to leave you alone.
  • Procedurally generate pixel art for specific tile types so that no two "16x16 brick tiles" are quite the same...
  • Use Bryce3D to generate prerendered 3D backgrounds for a game. (Is there licensing requirements on old copies of Bryce3D??)
  • Rhythm game except it teaches you morse code
  • Farming sim but you're planting native plants for the Missouri area
  • Fantasy sim life rpg but each area helps you learn vocab in another language (e.g. animals, plants,)
  • Shopping mall game - kids can work basic jobs to earn money and buy things, learn math and currency? time management?
  • Puzzle game about data structures. ex, draw the pointers between linked list and its nodes, given push/pop functionality.
  • Game packs?
    • Puzzle pack - Elemental blocks style game, word block game, pipe dream, gem matching, rodent's revenge, block destroyer...
    • Sim pack - Farming sim, mining sim, dating sim, village building sim, apartment management sim?
    • Bootleg games pack - Knock offs of: Smash bros, Death Stranding, Pokemon, Mario, Contra, Mario Kart
    • RPG pack - 2D gauntlet-style, first person dungeon crawler, roguelike, action RPG style, darkstone style
